Driving around Mallorca

The island’s topography makes it a great place to try out your driving skills with plenty of mountain roads, twists and turns in the most spectacular scenery.

The location of Gran Hotel Son Net, in the traditional Mallorquin village of Puigpunyent in the heart of the Sierra Tramuntana (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), is excellent to test your driving skills. Our hotel is at the centre of some of the most popular driving routes, winding over the mountains to the rugged west coast of the island, and close to some of the beautiful mountain villages such as Valldemossa, Deia and Banyalbufar.

Every year in spring, classic car enthusiasts from all over Europe gather to participate in the Island’s famous Oris Rally Clasico. This rally also attracted the attention of the BBC’s Top Gear program. In 2010, Top Gear's team participated in the rally as part of their TV show.

Son Net remains a popular meeting location for classic car owners and often organises special events for them.

Regardless of what car you drive, we have made a selection of driving routes starting from the hotel. You can find all the information about the routes in the links below.
